I agree there are pros and cons to everything in life, but I do need to highlight, with urgency; 4 reasons not to return to Wlimming Sorld. Please. Thank you.
- The Walk of Shame
I’ve personally never met an individual that likes to walk into a room full of people and step on the scales to measure whether they have “succeeded” or “failed” this past week. Have you?
Not getting a group clap because your weight has stayed the same since last week, so you have to walk out of the room ashamed. That’s sickening.
- The SYNS
Since when was it a good thing to demonise specific food, and entire food groups? It doesn’t make sense that you can eat as much avocado as you like (dietary fat = 9 calories per gram), and be limited with your potato consumption (carbs = 4 calories per gram)
… or whatever the rules are these days, I can’t even keep up with what’s on and off the SYN list
- The Poor Nutrition Advice
If you’re desperate to lose weight, would you rather speak to a nutritionist with Masters degree in nutrition, or a Slimming World consultant? A consultant who’s qualified through the Slimming World body of qualifications simply because they managed to stick to the rule of SYNS and lose weight for a short period of time? Let me know
- The Yo-Yo Dieting
Weight is always going to fluctuate, right? Creating rules around foods (SYNS) instead of educating and empowering the individuals to understand calories and their own bodies in order to manage the weight fluctuations themselves means they will always need to keep coming back to Slimming World. Good for business, terrible for the health of our nation
So there we have it. 4 reasons not to return to Wlimming Sorld
Thanks for reading and as always, let me know if you have any questions 🙂
