Mushrooms with added Vitamin D are now a “thing”
So is this good or bad, I hear you say…
Well considering we live in a Vitamin D pandemic (slight exaggeration)
100% this is a good thing!
Vitamin D is important to help support many systems, in particular:
The brain
The immune system
Bone health
Although most humans are not deficient
Levels are usually not optimal either….
The best source of Vitamin D is sunlight, and if that is scarce
(I personally can’t even remember what the sun looks like)
Then supplementation is recommended
Some foods such as fish, eggs, dairy + shrooms all provide a small amount of VitD
But in really tiny amounts
So adding Vitamin D to common foods we consume whereby we can benefit from all other nutrients that exist within that food item at the same time
Is OF COURSE a fabulous addition to human existence!
All the more reason now to eat the fungi, woohoo!
