“I am on a low carb diet, whenever I feel low I eat carbs”
The phrase “mental health” seems to be one that’s both delicate but in the same breath overused
When I talk about mental health, I mean the average Joe or Debbie
Not mental hospital health
I have letters behind my name, but not Dr in front of it ☺
So here are some ways we can turn that frown upside down
- Increase carbohydrates: Increases the level of serotonin, the happy hormone, in the body
- Increase water: 1% dehydration decreases brain function therefore increases sensitivity to mood changes, meaning less of the happy hormone
- Eat more calories: Too big of a calorie deficit for too long will down-regulate your bodies ability to function. Give the body enough energy for happy hormones
- Eat enough veggies: Chronic micronutrient deficiencies affect your body’s ability to function at its best. Give the body enough nutrients for happy hormones
- Exercise/ movement: This activates the release of endorphins, aka the happy hormones
Those 5 points are not anything you haven’t heard before…
But I can guarantee 98.578% of you don’t regularly do everything I have listed…
Consistently…
So let’s start here ☺
Any questions please feel free to ask!
